Welcome to the Office of the Languages Commissioner of Nunavut

The Office of the Languages Commissioner of Nunavut (OLCN) is an independent office of the Legislative Assembly that protects and promotes the language rights of Nunavummiut.

>Our mission is to ensure that everyone in Nunavut can live and receive services in the official language of their choice, Inuktut (Inuktitut and Inuinnaqtun), English, or French.

We work with individuals, communities, and organizations to help them understand their rights and obligations under Nunavut’s Official Languages Act (OLA) and Inuit Language Protection Act (ILPA).
